Here’s the first classic composition I’ve posted here in a while, and it’s a shot I’ve been wanting to make for a long time. It had been many years since I saw flowers near as good as the ones scattered across southern AZ and Death Valley this year and in over 3 weeks down there I finally caught some good skies, as you see here. In fact I wasn’t paying as much attention as a should have been because I ended up having to race up here without even my tripod, and took all the shots at ISO 640. This is 3 vertical shots. There were some small compositional liberties taken when blending them, warping, what have you, but overall this is pretty much the shot I have seen the potential to get here for nearly a decade and have returned for many times. I found these flowers in an absolutely awesome natural display. I love this entire area of desert gardens for all its fascinations and diversity.

-5 kilometers from the border with France, the ruins of the Royal Factory of Arms and Munitions of Orbaizeta rise. Abandoned since the resort closed its doors at the end of the nineteenth century, and only distinguish furnaces and channeling the river Legartza between all vegetation is gaining ground. A feast for the eyes.
