Reflected Arches by David Alvarez Velicia

This photo is taken in the well-known Playa de las Catedrales (Spain), I had a photo in my head that I wanted to achieve: the arches at sunrise, to have the sun in the front and with the right tide to get its reflection in the water. The most complicated part was calculating the appropriate tidal height that would allow access to the arches area, but it was not so low that there was no water and the reflection did not form, all coinciding with sunrise. Technically the photo only has the difficulty of the great dynamic range, since you cannot use filters because the framing does not allow it, I had valued the possibility of taking an HDR but I preferred to take the photo in a single shot since the final result seems to me more natural. Esta foto está tomada en la conocida Playa de las Catedrales, yo tenía una foto en mi cabeza que quería lograr: los arcos al amanecer, para tener la salida del sol de frente y con la marea justa para conseguir su reflejo en el agua. La parte más complicada era calcular la altura adecuada de marea que permitiese acceder a la zona de los arcos, pero no fuese tan baja como para que no hubiera agua y se formase el reflejo, todo ello coincidiendo con el amanecer. Técnicamente la foto solo tiene la dificultad del gran rango dinámico, ya que no se pueden usar filtros porque el encuadre no lo permite, había valorado la posibilidad de realizar un HDR pero preferí sacar la foto en una sola toma ya que el resultado final me parece más natural.
